Kotoku-in Buddha

Early Sunday  morning my family and I boarded a bus and headed to find this giant Buddha statue. We were dropped off in the heart of Kamakura and sauntered down busy streets and winding roads, all while keeping track of three kids and hoping apple maps wouldn’t get us lost. (It did. Thankfully a kind Japanese woman pointed us in the right direction)We finally arrived and it was completely worth the trek! The Kotoku-in Temple in Kamakura, Japan is home to this giant Buddha. It was cast in 1252 and is hollow so we were able to go inside! There is also a shop that sells ice cream and souvenirs on site. Definitely worth the trip if you’re in the area!47513875-2268-4E80-B8AE-D01F87BB829B5ED9315D-3894-42A5-B469-9BCFF5B435DF048C9FE1-C337-4E89-89AD-D10DC3BD3927
